Charlie Cox vuelve a ponerse en la piel de Matt Murdock y a enfundarse el traje de Daredevil, tras lo acontecido en la primera temporada, que acabó con las principales bandas que gobernaban New York, a través de las drogas, las armas, la explotación y compra/venta de mujeres, la violencia, etc.
Tuvo que luchar contra muchos enemigos, soportar muchos golpes y ver morir o matar a muchas personas involucradas, hasta poder llegar al cerebro de todo esto, detenerlo y demostrar su culpabilidad, mientras trabaja en casos recién licenciado y viendo la transformación tanto de Matt Murdock como de Daredevil.
Ahora todo a cambiado, la paz que creía haber logrado traer a Hell´s Kitchen y a New York solo es el preludio de lo que está por venir.
Lo que se sabe de la historia que vendrá en los nuevos 13 capítulos de esta segunda temporada es que Matt sigue siendo abogado y justiciero de noche, repartiendo justicia de ambos modos. Esta vez se enfrenta a un rival inesperado, Frank Castle/El Castigador, un ex-agente militar que reparte su propia justicia después de ver morir a su familia, hecho que entra en conflicto con Daredevil.
A su vez Matt Murdock tiene que lidiar con una antigua compañera sentimental que ha vuelto a aparecer en su vida, Elektra Natchios, que ahora ejerce como asesina a sueldo, con grandes dotes de lucha y misterio.
Todo esto viene acompañado de una amenaza que ha estado latente en la ciudad, pero con todos los rivales fuera del juego, entran en acción una organización llamada ``La Mano´´.
El gran villano de la temporada pasada fue Wilson Fisk, ahora esta entre rejas y con su imperio de capa caída. Ahora entra en el juego una misteriosa organización pero lo que todo el mundo esta deseando de ver son los motivos de por que llega El Castigador a New York causando estragos allá donde vaya y su choque con Daredevil a la vez tiene que mantener la acción con Elektra Natchios.
En esta temporada va a poner a prueba al héroe, pues tendrá que lidiar con muchas emociones y peligros y se le pondrá a prueba, a diferencia de la primera que era sobre la decisión de ser el justiciero. Son personajes que a much@s les encantan, y después del éxito de la primera temporada, nos traerán una segunda temporada muchísimo mejor.
La producción principal comenzó en julio de 2015, bajo el nombre de Ringside, y finalizó en diciembre del mismo año. Los efectos visuales se volverán a encargar los mismos de la primera temporada, Shade VFX mientras que la música volverá a ser compuesta por John Paesano.
Esta vez los showrunners son Doug Petrie y Marco Ramírez sustituyendo al de la primera temporada, Steven S. DeKnigth.
